PCLoginNow User-Guide
We will give out an example on how to use PCLoginNow.
In this example, we will show you how to reset the password using PCLoginNow.
- Start up
Insert PCLoginNow CD, Set BIOS to boot from CD/DVD-ROM.
The first page presents to user is : PCLoginNow is ready to run.

- Select System

PCLoginNow has detected that there is a Vista installed in current machine. PCLoginNow presents several properties of the system it found:
ID :the id number. System Name:the version of the Windows(such as : windows xp , windows 2000...) Path :the location of the SAM files in current Windows system. File System:What file system did the system occupies in. - Select User

- The properties of the account and operating the account properties
1) The properties of account

One account has five properties, they are:
is Administrator:if the account has the Administrator privilege.
It is useful if you need the administrator privilege to run certain program;password is empty :if the password of the account is empty; is disable :if the account has been disable due to the operation of Administrator or the system rules; is lockout :if the account has been lockout; password never expire :if the account has to set password every time when login.
These five properties is presented by the five check boxes lay below the account list box.
a) If no account is selected all the five check boxes will be grey out.
b) If an account is selected, the state of the properties will be displayed through the check boxes. If the account has the property, the check box of the property will be. If not, the check box of the property will be
.
Attention: two properties “is Administrator” and “password is empty” have special state. Once the account has either of them, the state of these properties will be selected and grey out. This means if an account is administrator or its password is empty, you can not change it to be a user or set a password for it. like this:

2) Operating the account
The properties of the account can be change by clicking the check boxes and click “Next” button. For example, if you want to reset the password of an account:
(1) Click the check box

(2) Click “Next” to apply the changes

- Finish
After applying the operations, you can click OK to reboot the computer .

In this screen, PCLoginNow lists all the accounts of the system you selected previously . There are several important parameters which help you to identify the account you want to operate:

account's privilege (Administrator or User); |
